Child Locks that aren't Child-proof?

video

So a few WEEKS before Ana's first birthday, she figured
out how to remove the child locks! REALLY? Aren't these
things supposed to be CHILD-proof!?  Yes, really! It is
absurd, and unreal how quickly she is growing-up.  So now
we have to install some that require a key. Everyone tells me
that kids just outgrow this, but I see no end in sight! EVERY
day, EVERY chance she gets, she tries to empty my
cupboards and drawers. And since she has been walking
since she was 7 months old, this has gone on a while. So,
while I wait for Adam to put the locks on all 20 drawers and
cupboards, I've tied-up some with ribbon. What a pain! And
then she discovered the oven door, nice.  Luckily I caught
her before she fell on the hardwood floor! Good thing she is
so freakin'cute, because she is A LOT of work!!!

Ava's First "Real" Haircut...

I have been cutting Ava's bangs since she was

little, but was always scared to cut the back.

Consequently she hasn't had her hair cut, EVER.

I figured it was overdue, and her hair was getting

too long to manage anyway. Since I love the girl

who does my hair, I asked her if she would cut

Ava's. Of course she said yes, and she did a

wonderful job. Ava says Chelsey is now one of

her "friends". Daddy couldn't help how many

pictures he took, so I am posting a lot too!

More Snow...

It just wouldn't be Utah if it didn't dump snow in April--wait until the buds are starting to come out and then rain all evening so the snow will stick to everything! Ugh, I can't stand it! I get a taste for some beautiful spring days and then more stupid snow. Good thing it is so beautiful, or I couldn't stand it here one more day! Any way, my sweet Mya seems confused too--she knows its warm outside because the snow is melting everything, but she remebered the basics! I love her tons!

Blogging again!

I am sorry to my sweet girls, husband, family

and friends that I have not been blogging all the

fun, sad, cute, crazy and silly moments of our

life the last 2 1/2 years. I kept thinking I was

going to "catch-up" since Mya's visit at the hospital,

and it obviously NEVER happened. So much has

happened in all that time that a summary just would

be ridiculous! Consequently, I will just start with

some of the latest moments/events we've had and

let go of the fact that I have put this last on my list for

so long. Above is a picture of our silly Mya. She makes

us laugh so often and when we found her in the bar stool

looking as serious as can be, this was no exception!

Leaving the hospital...

I decided to backtrack a little since this is my new form of keeping a journal...and 'cause I want to post some cute pictures. Let's begin with the day we left the hospital with Mya. Look at how cute she is holding her paci and looking at her Dada!

Mya's baby blessing...

A few days before Mya's baby blessing, my sister Jodi offered to make her a dress. I had planned on just using Ava's-but she said it would be no problem, so how could I resist? It turned out exactly as I wanted-simple, yet beautiful. The day turned out to be wonderful, but we unfortunately didn't take many pictures. Mya had a blow-out not too long after the pictures above, so the dress, though unharmed, came off quickly. After all of the hustle to prepare food, visit with friends and family, and clean up, we realized we didn't take ANY pictures of her special day. Sorry Mya! Thanks to Jen (Eric's wife) we at least have these :)

Ava's first time bowling...

Grandma and Grandpa Jorgensen came to Utah to be with us on the day we blessed baby Mya. We decided to go bowling since they were in town. My brother Eric joined us and some of Adam's family, Amy, Lance & his family: Angela, Trevor and Sterling. Mya was a champ, ate, then slept for the entire evening! Ava had a blast exploring, waving to new people and being with family.
